AMVCA 2026: Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Uzor Arukwe Win Best Lead Actress & Actor [FULL WINNERS LIST]

The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards delivered another unforgettable night of glamour, emotion, and historic victories as some of Africa’s biggest movie stars gathered at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites for the annual celebration of excellence in film and television.The biggest headlines of the night belonged to Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman and Uzor Arukwe, who emerged winners in the highly competitive Best Lead Actress and Best Lead Actor categories respectively.

Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman clinched the Best Lead Actress award for her outstanding performance in The Serpent’s Gift, while Uzor Arukwe took home the Best Lead Actor trophy for his role in Colours of Fire.

The 2026 ceremony also witnessed a historic moment for Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, who achieved a rare double win after earlier securing the Best Supporting Actress award for The Herd. Her achievement instantly became one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

Another major winner of the evening was My Father’s Shadow, which dominated several categories and ultimately secured the prestigious Best Movie award. The critically acclaimed film continued its impressive international recognition streak after previous success at global film festivals and award platforms.

Hosted by Bovi Ugboma and Nomzamo Mbatha, the event celebrated African storytelling, filmmaking excellence, digital content creation, television productions, and emerging talents from across the continent.
