Man Who Stole Beyoncé’s Unreleased Music Before Atlanta Show Pleads Guilty, Gets Two Years

A man accused of stealing unreleased music belonging to global music superstar Beyoncé before her Atlanta concert has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to prison.

According to court reports, 41-year-old Kelvin Evans entered a guilty plea in Fulton County Superior Court in connection with the 2025 theft that shocked Beyoncé fans and the music industry. Evans pleaded guilty to charges including entering an automobile and criminal trespass.

The judge sentenced Evans to five years, with two years to be served in prison while the remaining years will be spent on probation. Authorities also ordered him to stay away from the victims and the location tied to the crime.

Investigators said the incident happened in July 2025, just days before Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour performances at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The stolen items reportedly belonged to members of Beyoncé’s choreography and dance team.

Police revealed that hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music, concert setlists, footage plans, and other sensitive materials were inside the stolen suitcases. The theft happened after a rented Jeep Wagoneer parked near Krog Street Market was broken into.

Surveillance footage allegedly captured Evans pulling into the parking area, inspecting the SUV, and later removing the suitcases from the vehicle. Prosecutors said the stolen bags were later traced to an apartment connected to Evans’ sister.

Authorities previously stated that the missing hard drives and unreleased music have still not been recovered.

Before accepting the plea agreement, Evans had initially rejected an earlier deal and was preparing to go to trial, where he faced up to six years behind bars if convicted.

The case generated massive attention online due to the involvement of unreleased music from one of the world’s biggest artists. Fans had expressed concerns about potential leaks from the stolen hard drives, especially during the peak of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour.
